Two bright spots

Enjoyed two bright spots in my day today. The first was a repeat performance by the flock of cedar waxwings. They're just so colorful. The second was the cutest video of our granddaughter posted on Facebook, singing Jesus Loves Me.

Steve made dinner for he and Rosie tonight. He produced the fried chicken breast chunks precisely from my directions and they were great. (Soaked in milk for a bit, then cut up, dredged in self-rising flour and spices and fried at fairly high temperature.)

One of my birding buddies had a total bright spot today -- a fly by from a flock of Canada geese. Unbelievably (but unmistakable) and totally cool.

Otherwise, the day was even more stress-filled than the previous couple of days, with a couple of big disappointments on top of all that. The stress level at work is really building to a crescendo, with everyone on edge and fearful of the unknown. I've had three different co-workers get choked up and teary eyed with me in the past two days. I think journalists are used to being somewhat in control of things and it's very hard to have no power over your situation.

After solving Rosie's problem with producing two-sided copies from our printer, I thought I was going to curl up now by the fire with a book but no, the day just keeps getting better and better. I'm headed to Walmart because I'm out of a critical ingredient needed to prepare food for a family's after-funeral dinner tomorrow.

Please pray for me that I don't wind up on Peopleofwalmart.com . I am headed to the all-night super center at midnight without a bra and I probably won't brush my hair either. Meanwhile, the fire in the fireplace will probably be reduced to ashes by the time I get back here.
