Exhausted

Well this day started off poorly and just continued that way all day long. When I walked in to the office and saw a one-source, above the fold story on 1A regarding hurricane season that actually used the word "extreme" in the top, I couldn't believe it. This is one area of expertise for me and I just couldn't stand it. I've always made it clear I'm available as a resource virtually around the clock. How does something like this happen? And of course no one working the dayside at a newspaper can ever, ever get this question answered. Everybody is always on the defensive and open, honest communication just doesn't happen. Ever.

Then at 11 p.m. got a call regarding a weather story, to clarify something. I was happy to call the Weather Service. Straightened it out. But anxious to get off this computer because I was on all day long, more than 10 hours.

Couldn't wait however to talk about the new dish I made. Orzo cooked quickly in boiling water, only about 6 or 7 minutes. Drain. Chop up crab meat and stir into a skillet with a little melted butter. Throw in some Greek seasoning, little white cooking whine. Simmer a little while. Top with parmesan cheese. Wow! Intended to eat half tonight and half tomorrow. Couldn't stop myself. Ate about a cup of pasta! Super fast and yummy.

Loads of rain today.

Nearly finished the big package for Sunday. Can't wait until it's over!
