Simplify

After a dismal morning, the afternoon was super. Cleaned off the clutter on my desk, sorting through stacks and stacks of white papers, clippings, magazines and things that needed to be mailed. Removed all the pieces of paper, filed everything and will clean the desk in the morning. Great feeling.

Made a long to-do list of stories to get started in the days ahead and for once walked out of the office feeling like I'd really accomplished something. Came home to a fire in the fireplace and everyone in a good mood.

Eating one of my favorite salads: salad greens, craisins, slivered almonds and Ken's low fat honey mustard dressing. But these dinners at 9:30 p.m. need to stop!

The highlight of the day was finally spotting my first cedar waxwing of the winter -- a flock of 17 flitting around the News-Journal parking lot. Read more about them here: Cedar waxwing
