Funny how freedom can mean different things to you at different times. For me this week freedom is the ability to pick and choose what I do and when I do it. No one to check in with. No one to cook for. No one to criticize the choice. Divine!
Perhaps if I was alone all the time it would lose its thrill but for a week, every moment is precious. I spent entirely too much time on the Internet tonight. But I did finally start scrubbing the tub.
It's great to get the house clean and know it's going to stay that way! I made the beds, took the garbage out, washed the dishes and did three loads of laundry.
Drove Rosie to St. Petersburg to Eckerd College for EFY this morning. That turned into a 7 hour round trip! I also sent Steve his other hiking boot via overnight mail. (Probably should have priced it with FED EX - wound up being $28.) What's that you say?
Why did Steve need a boot? Well that would be because somehow our boots were put away from the Alaska trip mis-matched, with one of his and one of mine sitting neatly on each side of the closet. He picked up "a pair" and put them in his suitcase and didn't notice til he's ready to climb a Colorado mountain that one shoe was a bit too small!!
I think I'm going to spend the week with the kayak in the truck!
