Thank goodness for parents that taught me how to do stuff. I've thought about that a lot this weekend as I've planted seeds in the garden, baked and decorated a cake for Rosie, made a prom dress for Rosie, promised to make doll clothes for my granddaughter and handouts for Relief Society. Now I'm about to bake cookies for a thing at work tomorrow.
Both of my parents convinced me I could do anything I wanted as long as I was willing to try, so I've never really been afraid to try anything new. Growing up on a farm also meant learning a lot about many different things. The farm has come up again and again in conversation with people during the last week. I have so many fond memories of gardening, taking care of livestock and canning our own food. What great experiences we enjoyed.
