Today is the first day of hurricane season. Wrote a couple of stories for tomorrow's paper. We'll see what happens. One of the prevailing theories is that the season will be very busy. Some wonder if it could be related to the busy tornado season they had in the Plains. The last busiest tornado season there was in 2004, hmmmm....
Made cupcakes tonight in beautiful pink, petal liners from Wilton. Now I'm surfing the web, trying to decide how to frost them.
Came home tonight to find no one had cooked. I was hoping. They did save me salad, but I wasn't in the mood. So I made a three-egg omelet with cheddar cheese and cheater Hollandaise, (mayonnaise and lemon juice). Tasted great.
We have a bounty of vegetables flowing in from the garden: squash, green beans and tomatoes. My favorite way to fix crookneck squash is to lightly sprinkle a little olive oil in a bowl. Chunk up the squash, toss with the oil, sprinkle with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper and pop in the oven on convection roast. Very nice!
