The sun

You forget how powerful it is sometimes, until your skins gets burned to a crisp and you suffer for days. Or you forget to water a plant and it quickly wilts and dies. Scientists still study the sun and try to learn more about the role it plays in our climate. I understand the need for science but a headline on a news release today just had me in stitches. Scientists discover sun and climate link. No kidding!
But the beach was gorgeous this weekend, even though the water was rough Saturday as Hurricane Bill moved north far out in the Atlantic. It's amazing to me that a storm several hundred miles away can have that much influence.
We thoroughly enjoyed the kids, their wives and the babies. We played several rounds of Yahtzee and it was so much fun. The babies are so cute together. Each night a different baby slept in our room and woke up in the early morning hours and then found a place snuggled up with Grandma and Grandpa in the bed. How fun!

Speaking of photos, I'm so glad I'd downloaded so many pictures on this blog. We'd have lost all of our canyon/Utah pictures if it weren't for this blog. I will remember to use the external hard drive in the future. What a hard couple of weeks it has been but I know it will improve.
